Sails and Anchors

With excitement, we drove onto the Washington State Ferry to Port Townsend. As our vessel moved away from the dock, the views opened up to tree-covered islands and Mount Rainier towering over the Cascade Range. After arriving and settling into our B&B, we strolled the streets of the 1851 seaport village lined with restored Victorian-era buildings.

Windmills

Decades ago, I traveled to the Netherlands with my sister Becky. Among the places we explored was a windmill museum in Leiden. That experience became the focus of the chapter, “Unique Design” in our devotional Quilting Lessons about how God uses the “wind” that we face for our good and His glory.

Unfinished Objects

Stacks of colorful blocks filled the table. Shapes that were cut, stitched, and pinned together, but never finished off into a quilt. The remainders of someone’s unfulfilled project.

A Coincidence? Only God

While reading Nancy Clancy aloud at the tutoring club, my third grade student paused to tell me that she was worried. Her teacher was going to be out the rest of the year because she was having brain surgery.
